Commuters hoping for relief from traffic nightmares won’t find it this weekend: bridge and highway closures will continue to hit the island en masse, according to Transport Quebec.

The Décarie Expressway will face some struggles again this weekend, with the highway closing between Sherbrooke and the Turcot Interchange due to ongoing work on St-Jacques St. It will close Friday at 10 p.m. and reopen Monday at 5 a.m.

The Highway 40 westbound exit for the 15 southbound will close as of 9 p.m. Friday, and reopen Monday at 5 a.m. The 15 northbound exit from the 720 west will also be closed, from 10 p.m. Friday until Monday at 5 a.m.

The Victoria Bridge will have one lane open headed to the South Shore, but no lanes to Montreal open Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The 720 eastbound will also be closed for three hours on Saturday night due to fireworks, between de la Montagne and Papineau. The closure will start at 8:30 and end at 11:30.
